Reschedule or reassign a visit

Move a visit to a new date or a different clinician.

Two ways to move a visit: the assignment window from a card, or drag and drop on By Clinician.

From a request card

  1. Open Scheduling → By Patient.

  2. Click the card in Reschedule Requests or Reassign Requests. The window opens with the clinician's reason attached.

  3. Pick the new date or the new clinician.

  4. Click Finalize Reschedule (date change) or Finalize Assignments (clinician change).

By drag and drop

  1. Open Scheduling → By Clinician.

  2. In the Clinicians panel, check the clinicians to compare. Two to five rows works best.

  3. In Weekly Schedules, drag the visit:

    • To another clinician's row — reassigns it.

    • To another day in the same row — moves the date.

  4. Click View on a day to see it plotted on a map; Back to Week View returns. Expand opens full screen.

Drops are guarded:

Change a visit's type

Hover over the visit and click Change Visit Type. This works while the visit is unassigned or unaccepted.

Note: Once a clinician accepts a visit, its type locks. Ask the clinician to send the visit back from their phone, then reassign it with the correct type.

If something goes wrong

  • A drop will not land. Read the on-screen message — credential, episode boundary, or restriction. Pick a compatible clinician or date.

  • "Select clinicians to view their schedules." No clinicians are checked in the Clinicians panel. Check at least one.

  • A patient must keep specific days (for example Monday/Thursday wound care). Tag the visit Do Not Move. The calendar shows the flag, and any move asks for confirmation first. See Icons and badges.
