Tasks in the sidebar is the shared to-do list. When the system needs a person — an order to approve, a frequency to confirm, an NOA problem, a compliance item — it creates a task and routes it to whoever owns that kind of work.

Open Tasks. The Active tab lists open work; Completed holds the history.
Filter to your slice: Status, Assignee, Priority, Facility, Team, Department, or Payor.
Priorities run urgent, high, normal, low — sort by priority when the list is long.
The list groups by Status by default — the display options control can group by Priority, Department, Task Type, Assignee, Patient, or Payor, with sub-grouping and a board view. See the Tasks FAQ.
Status | Meaning |
To Do | Not started |
In Progress | Someone is on it |
On Hold | Waiting on something outside the task |
Completed | Done |
Cancelled | No longer needed |
Complete a task
Click the task. Each type opens its own detail page with the action built in — an order review task shows the order with an Approve Order action, a scheduling task offers the visit actions, an NOA task shows what is blocking submission.
Take the action on the page. Completing the underlying work completes the task.
Common task types: Order Review, Send to MD, Scheduling, Compliance, Intake, and NOA issues (rejection, prerequisite, cancellation, identity).
Use the patient panel
Most task detail pages carry the patient beside the work — a panel on the right so you never leave the task to look something up. It has three tabs:
Info — Patient Information (name, DOB, gender, MRN), Episode Information (status, SOC date, episode dates), and the Referral (source, contact, marketer), plus expandable sections for Providers, Insurance, Allergies, Diagnoses, Medications, and more.
Docs — documents already tied to the patient.
Comments — notes left on the task.
The panel is read-only. To change patient or referral details, open the patient chart.
Note: The panel is a working view, not the chart. For the full record, open the patient — see The patient chart.
Reassign a task
When a task landed on the wrong desk, select its checkbox in the list — the action bar that appears carries Re-assign. Pick the right person from the list. Re-assign moves the work; it does not complete it.
Note: Where tasks get routed is configured under Settings → Task routing. If a whole category keeps landing on the wrong team, fix the routing rule rather than reassigning one task at a time.
If something goes wrong
A task will not complete. Task completion follows the underlying work. Open the detail page and finish the named action — there is no separate "mark done" that skips it.
You cannot find a task someone mentioned. Clear your filters and check the Completed tab — it may have been finished or reassigned. Note that cancelled tasks show under neither the Active nor the Completed tab.
