Everything a new clinician needs to do, in order. Work through it on your first supervised visit — about an hour with a preceptor — then keep the visits FAQ handy.
Before you start you need an account, Scribe enabled for your organization, and your agency's consent policy.
Day one: set up the phone
Sign in on Wi-Fi and let the first sync finish. It downloads your schedule, patients, and medication data for offline work — the longest wait in the app.
Confirm the organization in the header. Visits belong to that organization only.
Open Settings → Schedule View and set your discipline filter — it decides which visit types your Schedule shows.
Find the five tabs:
Tab | Your job there |
Schedule | Today's visits, offers, Add Visit |
Patients | Search any patient, profile, calendar |
Inbox | Team chat, when your agency uses it |
Uploads | Recording sync status |
Settings | Organization, discipline filter, Help & FAQ |
Learn the visit loop
Work one training or supervised visit end to end, in this order:
Read your day and respond to offers — week strip, refresh, accept and decline.
Start the visit — consent signature, then Start Recording or Continue without Recording per your agency's policy.
Document the sections — vitals, medications, wounds, procedures. Watch the Outline percentage.
Reconcile medications — clear every need review flag and interaction note.
Finish and submit — Visit Complete, confirm times, then Submit Visit As Is or Start Post-Visit.
Check Uploads before you leave — recordings must finish uploading; never sign out with uploads pending.
You are ready when you can
Confirm the correct organization before each shift
Accept or decline an offer with an appropriate reason
Obtain consent and start or skip recording per policy
Complete vitals, medications, wounds, and procedures on a visit
Review your time and submit, or save the post-visit recording deliberately
Verify uploads before leaving poor connectivity
Find Settings → Help & FAQ on the phone, or escalate to your scheduler
A first-week rhythm that works
Day | Focus |
1 | Setup and one supervised visit |
2 | The full section workflow on two or three visits |
3 | Solo visits with phone backup |
4 | Uploads, Add Visit, and reschedule flows |
5 | Edge cases — interaction alerts, Sync Failed, the Outline |
Note: Preceptors and managers: pair this with your agency's consent and recording policies, and use training patients before live start-of-care documentation.
